Hi,
We were very fortunate to work with Lewis Taylor from the local paper. He wrote a great story about our trip and we really appreciate his help in getting the word out. The picture from the article is pasted below and you can read the story at:
http://www.registerguard.com/news/2007/05/27/ol.tandembike.0527.p1.php?section=oregonlifeWe also had a short TV spot on KVAL-Eugene...a local new station. It's not on the web yet, but I'll post it if it goes up. We're excited to spread the word about the great work that Thirst Relief International is doing to save lives and change the world.
Hopefully this gets people familiar with what they're doing and they realize how getting clean drinking water to these communities can lead to resounding benefits. Kids can attend school, women can care for their families and potentially bring in other income, fathers can work without illness, and the overall health of the community can improve, leading to hope and expanding opportunity.
We have said farewell to many of our friends here in Eugene. It has been hard to say goodbye, but we are so greateful for everyone's support and prayers. We've also had to answer a veriety of questions about the trip. I'll put togther a post before we leave answering the most frequently asked questions about '5,000 for Thirst'. We'll also give you all an update on how much money has been raised so far.
Talk to you soon!
Scott and Jenny
